BAS Annual General Meeting - September 8th

Do you have ideas on how to make BAS even better?  Are there things you'd like BAS to be doing?

The best way to effect change is from within, so please consider joining the BAS Management Committee and help BAS progress.  If you would like to nominate for Committee please email our Secretary at This email address is being protected from spambots. No actual knowledge of the stars necessary.  You don't even have to own a telescope to help BAS.  So please, email our Secretary, Mike, today.

The September 8th Annual General Meeting will see the election of our new Management Committee for the next 12 months - please be part of it.

Black Holes and Really Weird Relativity Stuff

UQ Master of Science (Physics) candidate, Colin MacLaurin, will talk to us about his research on relativity and how space and time get really weird near black holes.  So be prepared to have your brain gently warped and massaged with astro weirdness.  You can get a feel for some of the mind-bending content Colin will cover on his website: http://colinscosmos.com/ and then perhaps be able to ask him some really curly questions on September 8th. Give it a go.

Please come long on September 8th - all welcome, especially visitors. And its free too!
