The Pleiades - M45
The conditions for this capture were very misty, and I am very pleased that it had not degraded the image to any great extent. I am particularly pleased with the nebulosity around the major stars. The Eta Carina nebula - NGC 3372
One of the very first images I captured using my NEQ6 Pro mount and the Modded 450D. Processing is still a steep learning curve as I only image a few times a year seriously, with the result being I have to relearn everything I learned in the previous session. The Great Orion Nebula
I had only purchased a Williams Optics 110mm Magrez ED doublet, in fact it arrived the day before the 2010 Queensland Astrofest opened. Orion in August rises in the wee hours and we only have a narrow window to image it before the sky begins to lighten too much, or the mist rolls in to smother the photons. To be honest, it was starting to get misty during this capture. Mounted on an NEQ6 Pro and taken with the WO 110 ED Magrez @ f4.95, Modded 450D (Baader IR/UV), 5 x 180sec ISO 800, 4 x 180 seconds, ISO 400, 9 x 60 sec ISO 800, 2 x 30 sec ISO 800, all plus darks, no flats or bias.
