BAS Monthly Meetings and Venues

Apart from a break during the peak-summer months, Brisbane Astronomical Society conducts a member’s meeting just about every month.

These meetings are always open to visitors and prospective new members. Our meetings are held on the Friday closest to the Full Moon (so we don’t waste any good dark-sky nights) and commence at 7:30pm.

At these meetings we often have guest speakers delivering talks on a wide range of topics from astronomical news and research to astrophotography, telescopes and equipment, the solar system or deep-sky astronomy and a summary of each month’s constellations and interesting observing targets.

Due to venue booking challenges, BAS will hold its monthly meetings at varying venues, but usually at The Coorparoo School of Arts Memorial Hall, 210 Cavendish Rd, Coorparoo QLD 4151
Of course COVID restrictions may change things from time to time.
