BAS has members located across South East Queensland, and much farther afield. As a result, it is no longer feasible to conduct physical meeting where our members can come together and share their interest and knowledge of astronomy. However, Discord is the solution. Discord is a free on-line communications app that allows users to interact via text messages, voice calls, and video chats. It can be used via a browser of a desktop/laptop computer or via the Discord App on mobile devices.
Discord is where BAS conducts bimonthly member-wide meetings where we can conduct formal presentations and chat about all things astronomy. Discord is also where members informally communicate with each other to plan astronomy nights at Maleny, Calvert, or Warwick, or to pose questions and seek answers to any issue astronomical.
To use Discord you first need to Register – by creating a Username and Password. Register via this link: https://discord.gg/rd4SapyfWD
