Event Details
Brisbane Astronomical Society will conduct this public telescope evening in partnership with the Witton Barracks Community Hub adjacent to Witton Barracks Park and Indooroopilly Railway Station, 9 Lambert Road, Indooroopilly.
Telescopes will be available for the public to view the moon and various astronomical objects such as star clusters, nebulae and galaxies. This is a family event and caters for young children learning about space and our solar system planets. Telescopes will be operational from a little after sunset through to about 8pm.
Weather and event status updates will be posted in the Brisbane Astronomical Society facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BrisbaneAstronomicalSociety
The telescopes will be set up in the courtyard between the hub buildings. Walk through the park and up the driveway between the buildings.
The event is free, but if you would like to make a gold-coin donation, it will be gratefully accepted.

Event Details
These evenings are conducted for the benefit of BAS Members at the Warwick and District Archers site 15 minutes drive south-west of Warwick. This is not an event open to the general public night.
The Warwick Archers have a large hill-side lease on Ford Road, Rosenthal Heights, Warwick. Google Maps location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/gikrxSm3iKKStain6
Access is easiest by taking Glen Road west from the Warwick Hospital and, after about 7km drive, turing left onto Ford Road. The Archers entrance gate is well signposted.
It is strongly recommended that you contact the BAS President and ask to be added to the Warwick Archer’s email list. Final event organisation is communicated via email.
The Archers have a very large site on the western side of Ford Road. Facilities are good, including, dining pavilion, basic kitchen, tank water, flushing toilets, hot shower, large camping area, plenty of open space and good dark sky. The site is also only 15 minutes drive from Warwick and all its services. The sky is surprisingly dark even this close to Warwick.
However, please be aware there is no 240V power and no true overnight accommodation. Plenty of space for camping and also a swag on the dining pavilion floor is an option.
If BAS members demonstrate sufficient interest in the location we will explore opportunities to create accommodation on-site. At present, you should be prepared to camp on-site.

The kids will love it. From about 30 minutes before sunset to about two hours after sunset. We try and announce the status of these nights on our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/BrisbaneAstronomicalSociety If clouds or rain cause the cancellation of an evening we will post an update on Facebook.
These evenings are FREE, but an occassional gold coin donation would be very much appreciated.
